The Scottish Funding Council (SFC) has confirmed that the University of Dundee’s Strategy to Recovery is compliant with funding conditions.

Following the University Courts’ meeting last week, during which the Strategy was approved, it was then submitted to the SFC.

Professor Nigel Seaton said:

“The Conditions of Funding remain in place for the duration of the funding period to 31 July 2027, and therefore it expects the University Court to scrutinise and monitor progress relating to the full delivery of the Strategy to Recovery.”

According to the Chair of Court, Esther Roberton, the strategy is an important step “which will guide the University’s path to a financially sustainable position”.

The next steps include the University Executive Group starting consultation with trade unions regarding proposed workforce changes.

Professor Nigel Seaton will give an update to all staff tomorrow, which will include proposals for workforce planning and change.

The full Strategy to Recovery document will be revealed tomorrow.

This is a breaking news story: updates will be provided as and when received.
